The beach of Fodele is located at the exit of the Pantomantris or Fodelianos river, 26km northwest of Heraklion and just 3km north of the village of Fodele, which is believed to be the birthplace of the most famous Greek painter Domenikos Theotokopoulos (El Greco).
It is approximately 30 minutes drive to the city of Heraklion and 50 minutes drive to Rethymnon city.
